Mitochondria (TEM)
Mitochondria, the powerhouses of eukaryotic cells are well known to all cell biologists from diagrams and electron micrographs in textbooks. They have non-the-less remained notoriously difficult to automatically segment using software in electron micrographs in which numerous organelles have similar staining characteristics and highly variable shapes and sizes.
This difficulty is eliminated with the Image-Pro pre-trained Mitochondria TEM deep learning model, which can either be used alone, or combined with the Mitochondria (EM) Protocol. These tools make the analysis of mitochondria in large volumes of TEM data easy, even with little to no image analysis experience.
